Re-inhabiting Cold War Sites
In the north-east of Italy the sites of the Cold War represent an excellent opportunity to enhance the landscapes and cultures of the places where they are located. By their nature these sites were part of an international and intercontinental technological and military context. Gathering theoretical insights and design practice for the enhancement of these important sites, this book collects different international experiences around the theme of the reuse and architectural design of recently abandoned military areas to try to awaken attention to these important territorial signs that are in danger of disappearing.

I contributi contenuti in questo volume indagano il rapporto tra città e guerra dal punto di vista dell’archeologia, della storia e dell’architettura, saperi tra loro sempre fortemente connessi e collaboranti per studiare, analizzare, decodificare e ricostruire criticamente tracce, memorie e parole che riguardano i contesti urbani e i conflitti dall’antichità a oggi, all’interno di un paesaggio in eterno divenire. Mathematics for Human Flourishing in the Time of COVID-19 and Post COVID-19
The International Chair in Mathematical Physics and Applications (ICMPA - UNESCO chair), University of Abomey-Calavi, Benin, and the Center for Applied Mathematics of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Niš, CAM-FMEN, organized a webinar on Mathematics for human flourishing in the time of COVID-19 and post COVID-19, 21 October 2020, supported by the City of Niš. The objectives of the webinar were to give precise information about the work that scientists do to cure the disease, to push forward technology, to understand our society and create new expressions of humanity, and to question the role of mathematics in the responses to this pandemic.
