Staton History
John Staton came to America in 1666. He married Anne Matthews, daughter of John Matthews. in Stratford-on-Avon, Warwickshire, England in 1665. Descendants lived in Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, North Carolina, and Texas. Variant spellings of the name: Staunton, Staten, Stayton, Staiton, Stanton, Staaton and Statton.
