Art and Activism in the Age of Systemic Crisis
This book examines how renewed forms of artistic activism were developed in the wake of the neoliberal repression since the 1980s. The current edition SuperStories has international ambitions and comes with a range of interesting exhibitions which are linked to performing arts. The triennial program, with works by 50 national and international artists, fashion designers & designers, responds to the use of narrative and documentary elements within contemporary art, fashion and design. The stage for the triennial is the city of Hasselt (Belgium), consisting of a course along different culture houses (cultuurcentrum Hasselt, Modemuseum, Nationaal Jenevermuseum, Kunstencentrum Z33 and CIAP).
