A SURVEY OF ANGLO-INDIAN LITERATURE On the analogy of the literature of the great British, self-governing dominions anglo-Indian literature should logically, to be the territorial English literature of British. But the degree to which the ever changing English community that guards and administers india differs from the settled inhabitants of Canada or Australia, is at the same time, an explanations of the main peculiarities of that literature and also the measure of the difficulty which confronts any attempt to define it. Anglo Indian literature as regards the greater part of it is the literature of a comparatively small body of Englishman who during the working part of their own that they seldom take root in its soil. On the contrary they strive to remain English in thought and aspiration. by occasionally periods of residence in England they keep themselves intimate touch with English life and culture: throughout the period of their life in india they are subject to the influence of two civilizations, but they never lose bias (base) towards that of England, which, in most cases, ultimately reabsorbs them.
