What is the doctrine of the covenant of redemption? Why does John Gill (1697–1771), an English Baptist pastor and theologian, regard this doctrine as the kernel in his systematic theology? This book explicates how core theological doctrines in the Bible, e.g., the doctrine of God the Trinity, Christology, and soteriology, are integrated in the doctrine of the covenant of redemption from the biblical and theological perspective of John Gill. From his long pastoral experience and over fifty years of rich writing, Gill demonstrates that a careful investigation of the Bible and of God the Trinity makes him love the reality of the covenant of redemption in eternity, which is ultimately revealed by the gospel of Jesus Christ. Gill sees those who are in the gospel of Jesus Christ as the ones through whom the eternal reality of the covenant of redemption is manifested to the saved. Gill also encourages those who are in Christ to see the eternal reality of the covenant of redemption revealed by the gospel of Jesus Christ.
