Design Thinking Pedagogy
The problems facing society today are complex, multifaceted, and require crossing multiple disciplinary boundaries. As such, these problems call for interdisciplinary collaboration, including new and different combinations of skills and knowledge. Currently, tertiary education providers are not well-positioned to develop these interdisciplinary capabilities at a rate commensurate with the speed of contemporary change. This book places design thinking as the catalyst to create change in the tertiary education sector and to build interdisciplinary skill sets that are required for the graduate of the future. By presenting a series of case studies and drawing on global experts in the field, this book investigates pedagogical approaches, disciplinary facilitation practice, curriculum integration, and a framework for understanding design thinking pedagogy within tertiary education. Focusing on how educational institutions can produce innovative graduates with the ability to traverse disciplinary constraints, this book will be essential reading for research students, academics, and industry practitioners.

The Journal of Cultural Management and Cultural Policy offers international perspectives on a wide range of issues in cultural management and cultural policy research and practice. This issue looks at the effects political upheavals and processes of social transformation have on the conditions for cultural production, dissemination, education, policy, and management. The transfer from one political party to another, even when it occurs through legitimate political processes, can mean the difference between funding and lack of funding, restrictive versus liberal policies, or freedom of expression and censorship. The 1989 transformations in Central and Eastern Europe are one example among many others. Current upheavals in many countries have major implications for cultural management and politics given that artistic autonomy is at risk or already restricted with the potential to fundamentally reorder the cultural field. The contributors confront and reflect upon instances of political upheaval and social change that have had a pronounced effect on the arts.

Sixty years of Swedish computational lexicography
Swedish computational lexicography has a long history at the University of Gothenburg, both in its primary role as a central aspect of the scientific study of vocabulary and also as an infrastructural component for conducting research based on language data. Starting in the 1960s, the Språkdata research group pioneered corpus-supported lexicography for Swedish, forming the basis for successive editions of two main descriptive dictionaries of contemporary Swedish, SAOL and SO. Language technological lexical resources for Swedish have been developed by the research unit/research infrastructure Språkbanken Text since the turn of the millennium, most recently in the framework of the Swedish FrameNet++ initiative. After two decades of separation, these two largely mutually independently developed strands of computational lexicography have now joined forces under the umbrella of Språkbanken’s lexical research infrastructure to advance the field technically, methodologically, and scientifically. The result is a vibrant and multifaceted research environment intertwined with and supported by a closely integrated cutting-edge computational infrastructure for working with lexical data
