Political and Legal Perspectives of the EU Eastern Partnership Policy
This book examines EU Eastern Partnership taking into account geopolitical challenges of EU integration. It highlights reasons for limited success, such as systematic conflict of EU External Action. In addition, the book analyses country-specific issues and discusses EaP influence on them, investigating political, economic and social factors, while seeking for potential solutions to existing problems. The reluctance of the Eastern countries to the European reforms should not reduce political pro-activeness of the EU. The authors suggest that EaP strategies should be reviewed to be more reciprocal and not based solely on the EU-laden agenda. This book is one of the good examples of cooperation between scholars not only from EaP and EU countries, but also from different disciplines, bringing diversity to the discussion process.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 8th IFIP WG 8.5 International Conference on Electronic Participation, ePart 2016, held in Guimarães, Portugal, in September 5-8, 2016. The 14 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 31 submissions. The papers reflect completed multi-disciplinary research ranging from policy analysis and conceptual modeling to programming and visualization of simulation models. They are organized in four topical threads: theoretical foundations; critical reflections; implementations; policy formulation and modeling.
Electronic Participation
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 5th IFIP WG 8.5 International Conference on Electronic Participation, ePart 2013, held in Koblenz, Germany, in September 2013. The 13 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 30 submissions. Thinking the Unthinkable
The challenges of constructing effective governance systems in Central and South Eastern Europe during the past decade have been extensive. This publication looks at the linkages between these challenges and the experiences and best practices that have emerged, as well as the contributions of think tanks to government capacity. It is divided into three sections. The first part reviews a number of tools that can be used to stimulate a more institutionalized strategic thinking process in governments, using both the available capacities inside government structures and the inputs by civil society organizations. The second part reflects on the strengths and weaknesses of civil society organizations and think tanks as providers of inputs to policy makers. In its third and final part the publication includes a case study of the application of Early Warning System as a specific tool to bring together government and civil society capacities in the context of South Eastern Europe.
