During the early modern period, Muslims in China began to embrace the Chinese characteristics of their heritage. Several scholar-teachers incorporated tenets from traditional Chinese education into their promotion of Islamic knowledge. As a result, some Sino-Muslims established an educational network which utilized an Islamic curriculum made up of Arabic, Persian, and Chinese works. Islam and New Directions in World Literature
Since its advent, Islam has been a representational force to be reckoned with, cross-pollinating world literatures in Africa, Europe, Asia, the Pacific Ocean and the Americas. Yet, scholarship on Islam in world literatures has been sparse despite its significant presence. This book understands Islamic literary and cultural heritages as dynamic forces, constantly enriched and enlivened by various humanistic traditions in multiple languages, spanning the lives of individuals and societies throughout history. It is also designed to incorporate a variety of themes, influences, ramifications and representations of Islam in world literatures in classical and contemporary contexts. Exploring Islam's presence in world literatures in two strands: on the one hand, examining the orientalist versions and usages of Islam; and on the other hand, analysing the presence of Islam as Islamicate, this book advances a consideration of Islam as an agent in the history of World Literature.
Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang's Eulogy of the Prophet Muhammad
This book is about the “Hundred-Word Eulogy,” a 100-character praise of Islam and Prophet Muhammad written by Zhu Yuanzhang, who reigned as the Hongwu Emperor of China from 1368 to 1398. The analysis of the eulogy is augmented with relevant Islamic texts. The book has become quite revered by many Muslim individuals and organizations across the globe. Yet, no work exists that has systematically analyzed the text. The purpose of this book, then, is to fill this vacuum. Methods from the fields of history, literary analysis, and pragmatic linguistics are employed to provide multidisciplinary and comprehensive analyses of the text, undergirded by the notion of meaning.

Reliable Creed for a Community in Need
Reliable Creed for a Community in Need -Pocketbook- is a rhyming English translation of Imam Tahawi's famous formulation of orthodox Islamic theology. Abu Jafar Ahmad b. Muhammad al-Tahawi's (d. 933) text on creed is the most widely accepted exposition of the beliefs of Ahl al-Sunnah wa'l-Jama`ah, or Sunni Islam. Students pursuing a traditional curriculum in Islamic sciences begin by studying short primer texts that introduce three foundational subjects: theology (`aqidah), essentials of individual religions practice (fiqh) within the guidelines of a recognized school of jurisprudence (madhhab), and spiritual refinement (tasawwuf). To facilitate the learning process, those texts have often been adapted to rhyme, which makes them easier to commit to memory. This book is designed to aid students in memorizing the concepts expressed in Imam Tahawi's classic manual of orthodox Sunni belief in English.
