Relation Between School and Family in the Community explores a number of crucial issues affecting the triadic dialogue between school, family, and community from a cultural psychology perspective.
The book pursues the goal of exploring and strengthening a dialogical approach of communication and cognition. It brings together contributions from world-leading researchers related to the dialogical approach in education and psychology. It presents, among others, the place of language and materiality in the development of communication and thinking, as well as the role of the methods in the relationship between researchers and participants. This leads to an innovative definition of the dialogicality and how a dialogical approach can provide heuristic (conceptual and methodological) tools to better understand how people think, communicate and learn in a complex world. The authors hereby dev...
This volume is dedicated to Maria Antonietta Pinto’s research across the past five decades. The title reflects not only the dominance of metalinguistic awareness in Pinto’s work but also the pathway through which this construct has been elaborated over the years. Under the influence of two great mentors, Jean Piaget for the cognitive aspects, and Renzo Titone for the psycholinguistic aspects, Pinto created an original construct of metalinguistic awareness and instruments to measure it at different developmental stages. The volume pays tribute, among other aspects, to the heuristic value of this construct and its use in international research.
Reflexivity is a category that is too appealing not to arouse interest. It is a concept largely diffused in several psychological domains, as well as associated with epistemological, theoretical, methodological and practical discussions. At the same time, it is a very polysemic notion, understood and used in many different ways. If one approaches the notion and tries to identify the semantic boundaries of its usage, the seeming solidity of the term fades away, and a rather liquid semantic field emerges – a field where several interpretations coexist, being contingent to the context of the discussion in which they are implemented. This is the reason that makes the notion of reflexivity a pr...
Offering a unique, interdisciplinary approach through integration of concepts from education, philosophy, social work, and the affective sciences, this volume provides a unique pedagogical perspective on how affectivity can become an educative opportunity in the classroom. By foregrounding the importance of interactions occurring between more-than-human entities in and beyond classroom settings, the book promotes a socio-material approach to pedagogy. This emphasis on fostering learning environments where students and teachers feel valued, supported, and empowered distinguishes the book from other texts and aligns with contemporary educational and philosophical theories advocating for the si...
The book vividly describes how digitalization affects and changes procurement in companies in various ways. Numerous contributions from academia and practice show design options and provide advice for practical implementation. In this context, procurement encompasses not only the classic areas of supplier search, negotiation, and nomination on one side but also supplier development in terms of quality and technology as well as supply management on the other side, with the goal of ensuring efficient production and production control. In this design area of procurement, 15 starting points for digitalization are located and outlined in content. The implementation of digitalization in procurement offers opportunities for both buyers and suppliers. In the 2nd edition, the chapters have been updated, and topics such as digital twins and collaborative digitalization approaches in supplier quality and supply management have been newly included.
