A Family History of the Simonton Family, and Related Families Allison and Thornton
Theophilus Simonton was born in about 1685 in North Ireland. He married Mary Smith. They emigrated in about 1725 and settled in Lewes, Delaware. They had six children. Theophilus died in 1754 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Descendants and relatives lived in Delaware, Ohio, North Carolina, Georgia, Nebraska, Texas and elsewhere.

The General Society of Mayflower Descendants is the national organization representing 52 State Societies (all fifty states, the District of Columbia and Canada) whose membership is composed of individuals who have proven their lineages as descendants of the passengers on the Mayflower, which landed at Plymouth, Massachusetts, in 1620.
