International Conference on Advances in Pattern Recognition (ICAPR 98) at Plymouth represents an important meeting for advanced research in pattern recognition. There is considerable interest in the areas of image processing, medical imaging, speech recognition, document analysis and character recognition, fuzzy data analysis and neural networks. ICAPR 98 is aimed at providing an international platform for invited research in this multi-disciplinary area. It is expected that the conference will grow in future years to include more research contributions that detail state-of the-art research in pattern recognition. ICAPR 98 attracted contributions from different countries of the highest quali...
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 12th International Conference on Machine Learning and Data Mining in Pattern Recognition, MLDM 2016, held in New York, NY, USA in July 2016. The 58 regular papers presented in this book were carefully reviewed and selected from 169 submissions. The topics range from theoretical topics for classification, clustering, association rule and pattern mining to specific data mining methods for the different multimedia data types such as image mining, text mining, video mining and Web mining.
This companion provides an overview of current work in the areas of Persian Computational Linguistics (CL) and Natural Language Processing (NLP). It covers a great number of topics and describes most innovative works of distinct academics researching the Persian language. The target group are researchers from computer science, linguistics, translation, psychology, philosophy, and mathematics who are interested in this topic.
In recent years, the science of managing and analyzing large datasets has emerged as a critical area of research. In the race to answer vital questions and make knowledgeable decisions, impressive amounts of data are now being generated at a rapid pace, increasing the opportunities and challenges associated with the ability to effectively analyze this data.
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 9th EAI International Conference on Design, Learning, and Innovation, DLI 2024, held virtually, during November 7–8, 2024. The 11 full papers included in this book were carefully reviewed and selected from 29 submissions. They were organized in topical sections as follows: Using Immersive Technologies for Learning, Accessibility, and Technological Innovation; and Engaging Learners through Gamification, Playful Design, and Generative AI.
We explore how Virtual Research Environments based on Semantic Web technologies support research interactions with RDF data in various stages of corpus-based analysis, analyze the Web of Data in terms of human readability, derive labels from variables in SPARQL queries, apply Natural Language Generation to improve user interfaces to the Web of Data by verbalizing SPARQL queries and RDF graphs, and present a method to automatically induce RDF graph verbalization templates via distant supervision.
