Enhancing Sustainable Crop Production: Biostimulants and Biotechnological Approaches in Challenging Climates
In the face of climate change, agricultural and horticultural systems are encountering challenges related to resource availability, agrochemical restrictions, and production costs. The use of biostimulants as plant strengtheners and green biotechnological strategies offers potential solutions. However, there are limitations to their field application, making it crucial to bridge the gap between lab research and practical implementation. Meanwhile, the need for safe and environmentally friendly practices to ensure sustainable food production in challenging climates is growing. This Research Topic aims to explore the field application of biostimulants and novel biotechnological approaches for enhancing crop productivity and stress tolerance. We invite authors to submit research papers on the application of biostimulants in cropping systems under field conditions, including arable and permanent crops.
Italian Gothic Horror Films, 1980-1989
The Italian Gothic horror genre underwent many changes in the 1980s, with masters such as Mario Bava and Riccardo Freda dying or retiring and young filmmakers such as Lamberto Bava (Macabro, Demons) and Michele Soavi (The Church) surfacing. Horror films proved commercially successful in the first half of the decade thanks to Dario Argento (both as director and producer) and Lucio Fulci, but the rise of made-for-TV products has resulted in the gradual disappearance of genre products from the big screen. This book examines all the Italian Gothic films of the 1980s. It includes previously unpublished trivia and production data taken from official archive papers, original scripts and interviews with filmmakers, actors and scriptwriters. The entries include a complete cast and crew list, plot summary, production history and analysis. Two appendices list direct-to-video releases and made-for-TV films.
Proceedings of the Twenty Sixth General Assembly Prague 2006
IAU Transactions XXVIB contains the Proceedings of the IAU XXVII General Assembly held in Prague, 14-25 August 2006, hosting a total of 2412 participants from 73 countries. The Assembly featured a rich scientific program, comprising 6 Symposia, 17 Joint Discussions and 7 Special Sessions. During the program about 650 papers were presented and more than 1550 posters displayed. The Proceedings of the 6 Symposia have been published in the Proceedings of the IAU Symposia Series, and the proceedings of the Joint Discussions and Special Sessions feature in IAU Highlights of Astronomy, 14. Together with those 7 volumes, these Transactions cover the entire General Assembly. In addition to the scientific program, the XXVI General Assembly hosted the regular Business Meetings of the EC, the 12 Divisions, 40 Commissions and 75 Working Groups. This volume records the organizational and administrative business of the XXVI General Assembly and the status of the IAU membership.

Climate-Smart Agricultural Technologies
This book addresses the technologies that can be employed to tackle the challenges of global food security. Several recent studies have reported the significant impact of changing climate on the agricultural production, thus posing a challenge in achieving global food security. Thus, to mitigate these challenges there is an urgent need to develop approaches that may be helpful for the sustainability of food production. These approaches are based on three objectives: (i) sustainably increasing agricultural productivity to support equitable increases in farm incomes, food security, and development; (ii) adapting and building the resilience of food systems to climate change; and (iii), where possible, reducing GHGs emissions from agriculture. This book provides updated information for these climate-smart agricultural technologies that hold high potential to increase productivity, improve resilience, and provide efficient resource utilization.
