Designers seek moments of creative bliss when everything aligns, stress dissolves, and decisions flow effortlessly. These ‘in the zone’ experiences keep creatives inspired. This book uncovers the dynamic nature of the design process, shedding light on the various modes of thinking that shape creative work. The design process is often taught through a linear framework: define the problem, do the research, generate ideas, prototype, test, and refine. This structure offers a shared language across disciplines—from architecture to fashion design—providing a roadmap for clarity and progress. However, as any practicing designer knows, the real process is far more fluid. With time and exper...
In modern crop cultivation, biological control is used primarily for controlling insect pests. The main advantages of bio control technology or biological control are that no artificial substances are added and that pathogens/animals that develop resistance against biological control agents are rare. This approach has no adverse effects on human health or the environment and is self-sustaining. This is a comprehensive, authentic, and standard book on advances in biological control pest management technology, divided in fifteen chapters which deal with significance and importance of biological control in insect pest management, history of biological control, and why do we need it. This book has been crafted to accomplish the needs of undergraduate and postgraduate students of global universities in integrated nematode pest management technology.

This book explores how being "disabled" originates in the physical world, social representations and rules, and historical power relations—the interplay of which render bodies "normal" or not. Do parking signs that represent people in wheelchairs as self-propelling influence how we view dis/ability? How do wheelchair users understand their own bodies and an environment not built for them? By asking questions like these the authors reveal how normalization has informed people’s experiences of their bodies and their fight for substantive equality. Understanding these processes requires acknowledging the tension between social construction and embodiment as well as centering the intersection of dis/abilities with other identities, such as race, class, gender, sex orientation, citizen status, and so on. Scholars and researchers will find that this book provides new avenues for thinking about dis/ability. A wider audience will find it accessible and informative.
The Art of Enterprise: Entrepreneurship in Design explores the form and nature of entrepreneurship in a range of creative disciplines. It explores the complex ecology of activities that enable design, entrepreneurship, and alternative methods of practice within a creative practice, and for the benefit and engagement of society. The book is structured in four thematic sections: the Alpha Room, Beta Portal, Gamma Field, and Delta State. Within each section, the chapters address such topics as experience, mindset, activity, collaboration, and value. In that sense, The Art of Enterprise is composed of the way in which one experiences, thinks about, works, collaborates, and creates value in the mind, studio, prototype, and marketplace. It includes a curated selection of contemporary practices engaged in entrepreneurship around the world and interviews from leading entrepreneurs and design professionals capturing advice and inspiration. With an open-ended set of activities, charts, worksheets, and discussion questions, The Art of Enterprise fosters entrepreneurial thinking in formative projects and practices for students, academics, and professionals.
In the swirling landscape of contemporary literature, Arundhati Roy stands as the monsoon rains, equally loved and disparaged. This book delves into the kaleidoscope of reactions to Royâs writings that mediate her identity as a writer, activist and celebrity in the public sphere. Her life in slums, job as an aerobics instructor, huge publishing advance, Booker win, sedition charges, silver jewellery, choice to go to Dantewada forests, and decision to refuse to model for Gap continue to mediate how her writings are viewed and read by the reading public. Understanding the cultural politics of this sense-making allows the scope to see how a wide variety of factors prompt the circulation, reception and contextualisation of literary writings in the public sphere.
