This collection of chapters takes a departure from western prescripts to community development. It sheds light on adopting tested and tried Afrocentric methods to community development. The book draws lessons from African methods of communal unity for the common good. It gives details of African models of community development and how they were used before modernisation. The book also provides an overview of how these models are essential for governments to incorporate them into their development models. The importance of this book thus lies in the fact that it focuses on traditional African models of community development to enhance government-led models.
